Match Report
Cathedral School, Llandaff Boys-U15A vs  Clifton College
On: Saturday, 19 Jan 2019
Venue: Away

The U15s travelled away to Bristol on Saturday, to face a physical Clifton College side. The match started at a high tempo, with both sides looking to use the large pitch and play the ball long for wingers and strikers to run onto. Both sides surmounted several attempts at goal and CSL hit the post, but it was Clifton who scored the first two goals in thrilling fashion, a bicycle kick and long range effort that couldn't be stopped. The match progressed and Clifton dominated physically in midfield, making it hard for CSL to build attacks, but the determination and commitment from the boys saw resolute defending and several break away chances that resulted in a goal from Orson J. Clifton pulled ahead yet again and all looked bleak for CSL but, again the attitude and application was commendable and the boys fought back into the game, eventually scoring two well worked and deserved goals from James LJ and Jake J to set up a showcase finish. Despite some outstanding last minute efforts CSL couldn't pull level and the match finished 4-3 to Clifton. A great match for the spectators and sterling performances from MVP's James LJ (1goal, 1 assist) and co-captain Harry E, who's defensive performance was first class.
