Match Report
Cathedral School, Llandaff Boys-U13A vs  Clifton College Prep
On: Saturday, 19 Jan 2019
Venue: Away

The football season kicked off against Clifton College after only one Games session. A disappointing first half for the boys who found it hard to keep their shape and composure on the ball. This resulted in Clifton going 3-0 up. After a few changes and inspiring words from Captain Aiden B at half time, CSL came out a different team. Defensively they remained strong and in attack they started to test Clifton. Aiden B and Omar A in midfield were growing with confidence and produced some fine passes for Harry H and James D to run onto. The pressure resulted in Amir C finding the back of the net to get CSL's first goal of the season. Not long after a great cross from James D saw Harry H strike the ball and with few deflections off defender's the ball trickled into the back of the net to make it 3-2. CSL were oozing with confidence and looked a completely different team to the first half. Ollie H then joined in on the action 10 yards in from the half way line striking the ball high into the air and lobbed the keeper to level the score. This was an unbelievable goal and has potential for goal of the season. A fourth goal was not far away however, time ran out and 3 goals a piece was the result. Overall, it was a story of two halves but a very positive second half performance from the boys who come away with great confidence and momentum ready for their next game against Llandovery.
