Match Report
Cathedral School, Llandaff Boys-U11 Yellow vs  The Downs School
On: Saturday, 14 Sep 2019
Venue: Away

The U11 yellow rugby team started their season with our annual fixture v The Downs, Wraxall. On a wonderful day for running rugby both teams didn’t disappoint with a total of 18 tries scored, shared equally between the two teams.

The U11 started well with Harry J and Leo M scoring some early tries to calm the nerves. Adam S ran his heart out, hitting every ruck he could muster. Max CT, Dylan M and Isaac E made many promising runs with Max CT crossing the line to score his first competitive try for the school. Passing was at a premium, hopefully, the U11 Yellow team will see some more linking play as the season develops. One of the most pleasing aspects of the match was how CSL demonstrated a willingness to tackle. Harry J was top tackler with a tackle count of approximately 25 tackles in 40 minutes. Closely followed by Liam R, who showed great courage tackling much bigger opposition! Adam S and Leo M also had high tackle counts. It was also pleasing to see Dylan M, Max CT and Isaac E all make progress with the tackle. A great start to the season, an enjoyable game to referee and coach.
