Match Report
Cathedral School, Llandaff U11 Yellow vs  King's Hawford School
On: Saturday, 09 Oct 2021
Venue: at Home

The U11 Yellow team welcomed King's Hawford to the Bishops Field on Saturday. It had been two years since the annual fixture had taken place so both teams were keen to play in beautiful conditions.

The game started at a frenetic pace with King's Hawford scoring with their first possession. Initially, CSL were reluctant to tackle meaning King's Hawford were scoring at will. In possession, CSL made some barnstorming runs and came close on a couple of occasions with Harri A, Jeremiah E and Harry W at the forefront of these attacks. Amar S provided a good link at scrum half before some of the fliers received the ball in space. Eventually, Jeremiah E and Harry W scored some great tries. Adan A, Max W and Alex B were always dangerous with the ball in space and Mikaeel M was always a willing carrier of the ball. Mahmoud A also scored a great try showing some great feet and a clean pair of heels to score.

The most pleasing aspect was the progress made during the game. Both in attack when continuity improved with CSL going over three phases on a number of occasions. However, more impressive was the massive progress in the tackle area with Mahmoud A leading the tackle count.

An enjoyable game to referee and coach, and great to see progress being made.
