Match Report
Cathedral School, Llandaff Boys-U11 Red vs  Clifton High & Rougemont
On: Wednesday, 02 Oct 2019
Venue: at Home

The U11 Reds hosted Clifton High and Rougemont schools on Wednesday, in a fast paced afternoon of running rugby. Playing Clifton High first, CSL started at a furious pace, showing great intent to attack from the outset. Hard running from George D and evasive stepping from stand-off Jack W set up several tries early on and bruising tackles from Tom S and Harry J set high standards in defence and solid rucking from Harry D secured plenty of ball. Clifton exposed some lapses in defensive organisation however, and gave CSL some things to work on heading into the second game vs Rougemont. In the second match, Cassius G and Miles H showed great sportsmanship and good will playing for Rougemont to secure more players game time and what a performance they both put in. Running hard and rucking ferociously, whilst working superbly as a team with the Rougemont players they epitomised the attitude of the U11's so far this season. CSL however, showed ruthless intensity both in attack and defence, scything through the Rougemont players with some superb attacking interplay. Most notable was a superb inside break from George H, who showed great pace and awareness to offload to Gethin H who charged up the wing to finish in the corner. More hard work in contact from Jack D and Jack F saw plenty of turnover ball and the Reds finished strongly, all in all a great day of rugby and a good team performance in both matches, however with a little work to be done on defensive organisation.
