Match Report
Cathedral School, Llandaff Girls-U8 Red vs  Monmouth School for Girls
On: Saturday, 01 Feb 2020
Venue: Away

It was a beautiful morning for our match against Monmouth on Saturday and we had great support from parents despite the chilly wind. The girls really did themselves proud in this game and the improvement they showed on last Friday's match was impressive. They were much more confident in knowing where they were allowed to go on the court and showed great urgency and commitment on court. Monmouth put us under pressure in the first quarter but Mariam, Orla and Harriet managed to work together to intercept the ball and pass it up to our d where Evie was waiting to score on her first shot at goal! Monmouth equalised just before the whistle went, despite some tenacious marking by our girls. We had a small change of postions at each quarter and the girls were focused and remembered which way they were trying to score. In the centre court, we fought hard to keep posession and although our passes were not always accurate, the girls worked hard to snatch and keep the ball. Evelyn scored a further 3 goals, supported well in the circle by Hattie and Molly, who showed great communication. I was pleased to see the improvement all the girls have already made in just a few weeks of training. Well done all and thank you for your support parents!
