CSL B V Kings Gloucester B 09/10/2021

This Saturday presented an opportunity for CSL U13’s to play against strong opposition in the form of Kings School Gloucester. CSL were able to field two full teams that would go on to play some fast, free flowing rugby.

CSL B team started well with strong carries through the middle. Several players put their best foot forward and were able to create good momentum when carrying into contact. This was led first by Gabriel G who was unlucky not to score on several occasions. However, we began to lose our rhythm after several strong carries from the Gloucester side who soon began to pull away on the score board.

After a quick recap at half time about our tackle technique CSL began to find their feet with players showing great bravery and tenacity making sure to always support their teammates. Joe Elliot was particularly impressive making several effective tackles against much larger opposition. As string of Gloucester tries meant the result wasn’t in doubt, this however did not stop the Llandaff team who kept their heads up and continued to play right to the final whistle, completing some good moments of skill in the process.

Although Gloucester headed home with the victory, CSL can keep their heads held high after a brave performance that comprised of many learning opportunities that will be visited in next weeks training sessions.
