Softball U14/U15

For their last soft ball cricket game of the season the U14 & U15 girls joined together to play against Hereford Cathedral. CSL went into field first and got off to a great start, with some excellent fielding on display, working well as a team, backing each other up well to stop the ball from making the boundaries and sending the back back into the wickets quickly and effectively to only allow Hereford to run a single and on several occasions take a wicket or a run out. An impressive 11 wickets were taken during our fielding by some excelling bowling and stump outs from Evie HJ, Janvi P, Emma W, Rea P, Delfina G & Chessy R. Unfortunately, the heavy rain came down, so we had to abandon the game after our fielding innings and didn’t get a chance to go in and bat.

Hardball U14/U15

On Saturday a combined team of U14s and U15s made school history. The girls played their first ever competitive hard ball cricket match and decided to bat first against Hereford cathedral school. The girls were off to a good start with some impressive singles coming from Sylvie M. As our first wicket fell, Katy S took to the crease, with some strong positive batting Katy scored the first boundary of the game while her teammates cheered on from the sidelines. Katy and Sylvie formed a great partnership at the middle and scored a pleather of runs. Unfortunately, rain stopped play in the 10th over of the game where the girls had scored 58 off just 10 overs! We are incredibly proud of all the girls this season and the dedication they have shown towards this game. Well done on making history!
