The U14b team travelled away to King’s Gloucester to play their first competitive fixture at 11-a-side.
King’s started strong and dominated the majority of the first half, but the defensive efforts of the CSL back five, made up of GK Vivian T, Charlotte L, Beth N, Tessa M and Skye W was enough to stop King’s from scoring. The midfield worked hard to win possession of the ball and Rosemary E worked tirelessly in her defensive centre midfield role.
As the second half started, CSL continued to build on their performance and began to take hold of more possession. Rio L and Sophie L linked up well to find Elle M up front, who used some lovely skills to score a goal and take the lead over King’s.
King’s responded well and managed to secure themselves a well deserved goal towards the tail end of the game. It was a great game between two evenly matched teams. Girl of the game was awarded to Beth N in defence and Elle in attack.
Well done to all involved.
