The boys started very well in what was clear to be a good match from the start. Both teams taking a liking to long ball tactics on a fairly uneven pitch. This went on to cause chaos for centre backs and goalkeepers, with Cathedral taking advantage to score 1st. This came from a great team goal finished off by Jude K. After some great saves in goal from Mikaeel M that kept the game in Cathedrals favour, a second goal was put home in the roof of the net by Austin D. No chance keeper! The long ball tactic worked a final time in the first half with Jude, scoring his second of the game.
The second half was far closer and led to no more Cathedral goals, despite some good attacking play, and pressing from the midfielders and forwards. With 10 minutes remaining, the boys insisted that the bus was parked. However, this would come back to bite them in the form of a well worked Wycliffe goal with five minutes to go. The last five minutes were just as chaotic as the first five, but no more goals were scored.
Final score, 3-1 CSL win.
