Cathedral School’s rugby 7s team displayed resilience and growth at Saturday’s tournament in The Downs, Bristol. The day began with a tough defeat to Cheltenham, but the team quickly built confidence, learning from each match. A solid win against Dulwich followed, and the standout moment came in a thrilling comeback against King Edwards. Trailing 3-0, Cathedral mounted a strong rally to win 4-3.

In defence, Verraj B was a standout, showing great strength and character throughout the day. Ralph, Sree, and Jake M were highly creative, consistently offering an attacking threat that kept the opposition on edge. Oscar B led the team superbly, providing direction and motivation to ensure the team stayed focused throughout the tournament.

A narrow defeat to eventual tournament winners Caldicott left Cathedral in 3rd place in the group, setting up a match against Millfield, who finished 3rd in the other group. This fixture brought out the best in Cathedral, offering a challenging yet rewarding experience to finish the day on a high.

Overall, it was a proud team performance, with each individual contributing to the collective effort and demonstrating impressive teamwork and determination.
