Match Report
Cathedral School, Llandaff Girls-U15A vs  Badminton School
On: Saturday, 18 Jan 2025
Venue: Away

The girls started their season with a competitive match against a very tall Badminton side. With a number of injuries and absences, the girls were depleted in numbers but they did well to not less this effective their moral. Badminton came out strong in the first half, making a number of long balks to their shooters which were quickly converted into goals. Hard work from Jess S and Olivia G allowed us to also find our groove and get some points on the board. Mia D worked tirelessly in defence, making a number of interceptions and applying pressure throughout the court. At half time the girls were trailing by 9.

Excellent mid court play by year 9, Olivia C allowed us to open up some space throughout the court finding Sophie B on the wing and allowing Olivia G and Meg H-N to work the shooting circle with confidence. Unfortunately, Badminton continued to pull away, consistently shooting all of their shots. A final score of 14-28 meant that we did not close the gap as we had hoped. A game with plenty of positives to take forward, and a huge thank you to the year 9 girls who stepped in to fill gaps within the squad. Well done to girls of the game; Mia D and Olivia C.
